Innovative hybrid digital camera

I have been tracking the digital photography equipments for the last year or so. I own a film SLR camera from Nikon and I am still not sure how I will use the digital camera. Plus, the price-performance comparison also did not appeal me much so far. However, today I came across this article from NY Times. Given that I already own the film SLR, I will probably wait for such “hybrid” equipment to become affordable.
